Why Pets Love It Here

A fenced yard of your own

5 of the 7 site types have a fenced yard. Each one has a 16-foot drive gate and a 4-foot walk gate, so the dog can stretch out in the grass while you sit on the patio.

An on-site dog park

When your pup needs more room to run, the dog park is right on the property.

A creekside walking trail

A walking trail runs along the creek, with trailheads around the park. The premium sites back up to the creek and have a 4-foot walk gate right onto the path.

Room to walk

The roads inside the park are paved, and the speed limit is 10 MPH. One monthly guest called the park wide open and great for getting some steps in.

Pet rules

Simple Rules That Keep Everyone Happy

Yes, your friendly pets are welcome, and there is a dog park where your pup can play. Please keep pets on a leash when walking in the park, pick up after them right away, and do not leave them outside when you are not home. We have a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive pets, and we may limit the number of pets or restrict certain aggressive breeds.

  • Keep your pet on a leash when you walk in the park.
  • Pick up after your pet right away. Pet waste in your own yard must be picked up every day.
  • Do not leave pets outside when you are not home.
  • No nuisance barking, and no running the fence lines.
  • You are responsible for any damage your dog does to the site or the fencing.
  • Keep pets inside while the lawn crews are working in the park.
  • No pets in the laundry room, and no washing pet bedding there. Please clean pet hair out of the washers and dryers.

Have questions about bringing your pets? Give us a call at (254) 266-2344 and we'll be glad to help. The full Park Rules (PDF) cover pets in section 6.

Summer with a dog

Beat the Texas Heat With Your Pet

Want shade? The Fenced Back-In Covered RV Sites and Premium Fenced Back-In Covered RV Sites have a steel canopy over the pad. It keeps you cool in the summer and dry in the winter, and it gives the dog a shady spot inside the fence. Covered sites start at $799 a month, plus metered electricity.

A few general hot-weather tips:

  • Walk early in the morning or after sunset, when the ground is cooler.
  • Before a walk, press the back of your hand on the pavement. If it is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for paws.
  • Stick to grass and shade when you can.
  • Keep fresh water out all day, and bring some on walks and drives.
  • Never leave a pet in a parked car. It heats up fast, even with the windows cracked.
  • Watch for heavy panting, drooling or slowing down. Move your pet into the shade and call a vet if you are worried.

Day trips with dogs

Take the Dog Along

Texas state parks welcome leashed pets. Texas Parks and Wildlife asks that pets stay on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. Pets are not allowed in park buildings or swimming areas. These state parks make a good day out:

Rather walk around town? Shops, cafes and museums each set their own pet rules, so ask before you go in.

What Dog Owners Say

Real Google reviews from guests who brought their dogs.

"Everyone was super nice and the facilities were great (still super new!) We loved the gate around the site, as our Ausiedoodle had a blast running free around the RV."
Mallory Ibarra 2025
"We stayed for 3 months at this great park. They have wonderful amenities that are kept up daily. They have clean showers and laundry room. The park is wide open, great for just getting some steps in. I'm a remote worker and WiFi is fast! The sunrises and sunsets are always beautiful. We have a dog so it was nice to let him run around within the fenced in lot we had. And also they have a dog park which if they need more leg room they have it. The staff are wonderful people that will help in any sort of which way, as with the community. Thank you for the stay!!"
Elis Andrada Monthly guest 2025
"Best RV park we've ever stayed in, even better than some KOA laces we've stayed in. Loved the gated yards especially because of our dogs. The laundry/bathroom facilities were always perfectly spotless. The staff is amazing and went above and beyond for us. If I were to continue living in my rv, I would definitely go back."
Kathryn Snyder 2025
"Beautiful park! Extremely sweet staff, very helpful and doing a beautiful job at making this park a home away from home! Me and my husband loved the gated rv pads for our dogs, good location to be between Waco and Fort Worth if you don't mind the drive and enjoy more of country feel!"
Nichole Wouters Traveling couple October 2025
"The RV sites are large, and many are fenced in sites, which is absolutely great if you have four legged friends. We enjoyed our time at Itasca Creek RV Park and would highly recommend visiting to anyone."
Nicole Mioduszewski 2025
"Very nice RV Park with covered lots and fenced in sites. Nice big concrete pads with patio and picnic table. It also has nice clean shower house and laundry and a dog park."
